About

Hi there, I am Daniela McCann
Registered Psychologist
I am a registered psychologist who provides mental health services predominantly to children and adolescents. I work with patients to support them in finding good mental health through the application of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I utilise play- and art-therapy-based approaches. I also provide assessment and report services for children and adults who may be investigating a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Specific Learning Disorders and others. I have a background as both a psychologist and a teacher, with almost twenty years of experience working in schools across Queensland and New South Wales. I have a background in providing specialised education services to children and adolescents with a disability whose education occurred outside of mainstream.

Our therapy companions
Meet the pack
I work alongside my two wonderful therapy dogs, Stanley and Annie. They both play vital roles in my therapeutic approach. They help create a warm and welcoming environment, making sessions more engaging and comforting for children and adolescents. With their unique personalities and intuitive nature, Stanley and Annie bring an extra layer of support and joy to my practice.
If you and/or your child are not comfortable with dogs, we can easily arrange appointments on days when Stanley and Annie are not present. Your child’s comfort and well-being are our top priority.
